The Blog of a Gen-X

Teen of Generation x

Welcome to my blog! I’m a proud member of Generation X, where wild colors, wild hair, and long-haired bands were totally awesome. As a child of baby boomers and a parent of millennials, I’ve had the unique experience of bridging multiple generations.

I’ve been on the computer and the internet since the days it was known as the "bulletin board" back in the 80s. I was a gadget geek before it was cool—now it’s just normal! Here, I share my journey and insights, blending a love for technology with the rich tapestry of generational experiences.

How I Get Products for Free or Cheap on Amazon (And You Can Too!)

Being an Amazon reviewer was an exciting experience. It allowed me to try out a wide range of products and share my genuine thoughts with others. The process was straightforward: I would receive a product for free or at a discount, test it out, and post a review, ensuring transparency with a disclaimer about my role as a reviewer. Just as Amazon asked us to do. Unfortunately, the rise of fake reviews led to stricter regulations, and many honest reviewers found themselves caught in the crossfire. Thankfully, by demonstrating my adherence to the rules, I managed to regain my account. Discovering Snagshout While I no longer receive products directly from Amazon sellers, I discovered a fantastic platform called Snagshout that offers discounts, free products, and cashback opportunities. Snagshout provides promo codes that allow you to purchas...

Why I Don’t Like Talking About Politics

As I added to the title of this blog "no politics" I thought I should add why. When it comes to politics, I often find myself stepping back rather than diving into discussions. It's not that I don't have opinions; it's more that I prefer to keep those conversations at arm's length for a few reasons. Politics Is Complicated Politics can be really complex, with a lot of history and details that aren't always easy to understand. It can be overwhelming to keep up with everything, and I sometimes struggle to grasp the full picture. While I respect those who can, I often feel more comfortable observing from the sidelines. Staying Neutral I don't really identify with one particular side in politics. I prefer to see things from different angles and not get tied down to a specific ideology. This can make it tough to join in conversations where people often expect you to pick a side. The Negative Emotions One of the main reasons I avoid political talks is the ne...
